Carpe Diem...

"I think, therefore I am." These words from René Descartes are fascinating. This phrase leads us to ponder the meaning of life and interpret what the pursuit should be during your fragile lifetime. Experiences, both profound and mundane, allow us to live life to the fullest. Positive experiences lead to new memories and negative experiences lead to lessons learned. Positive experiences, such as playing in the park induce childhood memories you'll keep forever. On the flip side, falling down a slide in the playground could evoke a painful experience that you will learn from. These moments of adversity, while initially daunting, ultimately add character to oneself. The negatives and positives contribute to the richness of our narrative. To live is so rare and beautiful that it should not be taken for granted. Each fleeting moment is a brushstroke on the canvas of our lives, creating a final painting.

Apply these pivotal efforts to better yourself each day: move up to doing 8 pushups a day, create and stick to a weekly budget, and remember that “We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we only have one.” (Confucius)
